Stone Mart began its journey in July 2007 in Columbus, Ohio, with just 4 team members, 50 stone colors, and a single delivery truck. Since then, a powerful combination of operational excellence, reliable global sourcing, a dedicated team, and strong customer relationships and partnerships has fueled remarkable growth.
The company was founded by Surendra Kankariya and Yash Lunkad, who brought together the ideal blend of experience and innovation. Surendra, a veteran of the stone industry with over 25 years at the helm of Indus Trade & Technology, brought deep expertise and business acumen. Yash contributed years of retail industry experience, adding a modern, customer-centric perspective to the venture.
Stone Mart has expanded to over 50 dedicated team members, offering more than 350 colors and 6,500 slabs, supported by a fleet of over a dozen delivery trucks. We proudly service customers from three locations: Columbus, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis.
Together, Surendra and Yash have built Stone Mart into not only Ohio’s largest stone distribution center, but also a trusted supplier across Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Upstate New York.
In 2015, Stone Mart was recognized as one of America’s fastest-growing private companies, a reflection of our team’s commitment and the trust of our clients. Most recently, in 2025, we were honored with a third-place tie for Best Design Showroom—a testament to the strong leadership, personalized service, and regional focus our customers have come to rely on.
